As a Business Development Manager, you will be crucial to the development and management of sales pipelines, strategies & also successfully exploring opportunities in new markets.

The Role:

  • Establish a proactive sales function
  • Identify target markets/clients against business categories as per the firm’s business plan
  • Develop strategy, plans and processes to target decision makers in identified businesses
  • Build long term relationships and manage them to maintain repeat business
  • Self generated business model, utilising a combination of sales methods
  • Identify and articulate sales proposition and USPs across multiple business categories
  • Work with the in-house marketing team to develop sales messaging/collateral required
  • Work collaboratively with the team responsible for the firm’s database generated leads to ensure consistency and identify cross team opportunities
  • Work collaboratively with the firm’s asset advisory team to ensure consistency and identify cross team opportunities
  • Ensure consistency of messaging/tone of voice across all business activity
  • Set KPI’s and targets to monitor progress and measure success
  • Reporting against KPI’s/targets on a monthly basis and analysing sales results
  • Reporting into the board

You will be:

  • A driven, senior sales professional with a proven track record of sales growth
  • Motivated by the challenge to establish a new sales function and achieve success
  • Self-disciplined and self-motivated
  • Ability to operate across a breadth of business categories (P&M, Construction, woodworking, engineering, ABLs, Local Authorities)
  • Ability to communicate to decision makers across various sized firms - owner managed through to large corporate
  • Excellent relationship building/management skills
  • Collaborative worker and team player
  • Proven track record of sales growth
  • Experience in one/several business categories identified in the firms plan for growth preferred (P&M, Construction, woodworking, engineering)
