Job Title –Business Development Manager – ELECTRONICS, UK&I

Location –Corby/Remote with travel

As the RS ELECTRONICS Business Development Manager, you will drive the Electronics share of wallet with passion.

You will work across all levels of our entire sales and product supply organisation to enjoy significant Electronic sales growth within our key customers, identify the top opportunities and engage strategically with our key suppliers.

Your aim is to achieve “first-choice” status with our customers by cementing the Electronics value proposition in the minds of our sales teams and customers.

Your goal is to identify, qualify, develop then execute these enablement strategies to make this happen.

What you will enjoy doing to be successful in this role

  • Drive the Electronics sales number and margin to the defined target (daily / weekly / monthly / quarterly / annual / target 2025).
  • Driving the RS Electronics strategy to completion as a primary stakeholder.
  • Customer facing minimum 3 days per week in support of sales in a national role.
  • Actively growing / networking your contacts in Corby in support.
  • Nurture sales colleagues towards a wider Electronics expertise and promotion to drive sales and enhance margin.
  • Create a direct relationship with top 10% of largest Electronics customers in the UK+I.
  • Contribute relevant input to the Marketing and Technical Strategy for UK+I.
  • Construct and deliver upskill training for UK+I Sales Teams.
  • Act as local liaison for top 20X Key Suppliers for this sector.
  • Provide technical support to UK+I Sales Teams.
  • Support large enquiries on behalf of sales.
  • Act as VOC and deliver evolving services based on market demands via this feedback.
  • Review / rationalise / prioritise the electronics range at article level to create a true VALUE proposition for both RS and the customer.
  • Liaise with senior Electronics team globally for all matter UK+I and proactively adopt the position as “local champion” for all related matters.

What you will need to be successful in this position:

  • Understanding of the Electronics marketplace and customer purchasing strategies
  • Experience of working with customers to deliver solutions to serve customer needs
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written & verbal)
  • Analytical and able to interpret data to identify opportunities
  • Able to proactively identify challenges and take ownership for identifying solutions
  • Equipped with high quality commercial skills, able to make sound and well considered commercial decisions
  • Ability to work in a global, matrix led organisation as a self-starter
  • Ability to influence across the matrix
  • Full UK Driving License
