As part of this growth, we are now actively seeking an experienced Business Development Manager / Project Manager with a manufacturing background that ideally has experience in growing and closing significant sales, as they also do in working as a development partner with skills in putting together project proposals and planning on a permanent basis.

Our Client is seeking a Business Development Manager / Project Manager who ideally understands the Lithium Ion battery industry from cells through to packs (but this is not necessarily essential), together with battery industry tendering documentation, undertaking presentations and managing the sales and project lifecycle to completion including the contract drafting.

The ability to identify new opportunities will be fully tested in this role and you will have a proven track record developing new customers, targeting new business.

Additional responsibilities will include:

Confident researching and contacting own leads.

Responsible for developing new business while managing existing clients.

Follow up warm leads passed by the Head of Business Development.

The Business Development Manager will need to be able to win new business, but also see the win through to contract mobilisation.

Establish a clear service proposition.

Create a Business Development plan in line with company objectives.

Provide feedback on the market trends and your competitors.

Work with the customer to ensure the best and correct solution is provided while maximising returns.

Identify strategic development opportunities.

Work with other departments to ensure customer satisfaction.

Ensure all client information is kept up to date, safe, confidential.

Meet with new and existing clients regularly.

Happy to travel - the role will be a mixture of field and office-based duties in support of the Head of Business Development.Qualifications & Experience ideally required:

Should ideally be qualified with a relevant Degree, although lesser qualifications, but plenty of relevant experience might be considered.

You should be an experienced Business Development Manager / Project Manager who is ideally used to working for a development partner, supporting the likes of the Automotive, Energy Storage & Air Transport Industries, with strong Technical sales and project management exposure (project proposals / project planning) (ideally Battery industry, however not compulsory).

You will have the ability to self-generate leads from existing contacts;

You will have a demonstrable track record in developing key accounts through to receipt of purchase order;

Ambitious, confident and a drive for sales;

Full UK driving licence;

Arrange own meetings and prospect for new business;

Negotiate sale (price, costs, delivery and specifications) with buyers and close the sale;

Effectively interact with the Operations team;

Bring on new business from your own network of contacts;

Be desk-based and client facing;

Excellent communication skills;
