A great opportunity has arisen for two Business and Finance Administratorsto join Suffolk County Council’s West Business and Finance Team.

You may be asked to work in one of the following 2 locations based on the business’s need: Sudbury and Bury St Edmunds.

Your role

You will need:

  • to be able to demonstrate the ability maintain professional working relationships with internal colleagues and external providers
  • strong interpersonal and communication skills with a view to becoming a systems expert to support our social care teams
  • to take responsibility for delivery of tasks in a pressured environment with a complex workload whilst retaining a level of autonomy
  • where appropriate, to support colleagues in managing their workloads.

Your responsibilities

You will:

  • liaise with Care Providers to ensure that all payments for care are checked and accurately paid in accordance with agreed processes, policies and timescales
  • be supporting the Area Business Manager, Business and Finance Officers and the rest of the team on the delivery of financial and business functions
  • act as first point of contact and resolve financial and business performance process queries
  • undertake a range of complex financial duties and queries to support the delivery of income and payment services within tight deadlines.

You will need:

  • excellent IT skills, in particular Microsoft packages (e.g. Excel, Outlook, Teams etc.) with the ability and willingness to learn new systems, to also then have the knowledge and confidence to be able to deliver training on these systems
  • to understand the customer needs and know how to deliver a good customer service experience
  • a willingness to work flexibly and as part of a team
  • excellent attention to detail and accuracy as well as an understanding of confidentiality and data protection requirements in the workplace.

The team

Adult and Communities Services have 4 Localities across Suffolk. In this role you will be part of a Locality based team where you will be supporting the Area Business Manager who is responsible for all Business Support teams and sites within their Locality.

As part of this team you will work towards the Suffolk County Council’s Vision and Adult and Communities priorities to promote better outcomes for residents of Suffolk.

The team that you will be part of, will be responsible for supporting some of the most vulnerable adults in Suffolk offering services such as social services, occupational therapy professionals, helping people to maintain independence to stay at home, mental health and learning disability services, commissioning and contracting functions.

Travelling requirements for your role
