Auxillis are part of the ReddeNorthgate group and we work with some of the UK’s leading motor insurers and have an expanding and diverse project portfolio to deliver. This is a unique opportunity to join our busy and highly-valued Business Change team as a Business Analyst you will play a critical role in the delivery of business change across both Auxillis and Principia Law. We are currently working 2 days in the office, 3 days from home per week.

Acting as a bridge between IT and the business, the BA function engages with all levels of the organisation in-order to draw out an accurate, understandable, and presentable picture of current business processes and practice, clearly documenting ‘as is’ and ‘to be’ states as appropriate.

Supported by the Senior BA and working closely with the Project Managers and subject matter experts across the business and group, you will help to identify change needs in respect of allocated projects, assess the impact of those changes, capturing, analysing, and documenting functional and non-functional requirements and testing requirements.

You will also be involved in the creation of effective solutions to meet identified needs, whilst developing your knowledge and experience of both the business and importantly business analysis tools and methodologies.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate a good understanding of business analysis techniques and be able to apply this knowledge appropriately to a broad range of projects or change initiatives.
  • Gather relevant information from business and technical sources using the most appropriate techniques for the project and translate this into clear documentation.
  • Facilitate workshops for the purpose of initiating projects or requirements gathering activity.
  • Accurately estimate the work involved in delivering documentation, and deliver to agreed timings.
  • Act as the interface between IT and the business community in business change projects.
  • Analyse and document current business processes using a variety of methods and sources to validate the information gathered.
  • Actively work with internal and external stakeholders to understand their business requirements. This would include functional and non-functional requirements, determining priorities, benefits, risks, issues and dependencies.
  • Provide support to other members of the project team in respect of business case inputs and challenge where appropriate.
  • Review and analyse existing business processes in order to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Provide business representation on both internal and external / supplier related change.
  • Demonstrate a good understanding of project management methodology so that timely delivery of analysis, requirements gathering and testing etc are understood within the context of the project lifecycle.
  • Manage small or non-complex change using a typical project management approach to their work.
  • Support a project manager in the application of formal project methods without ongoing direction.
  • Reflect information gathered in clear, concise and accurate documentation that ensures effective understanding for the intended audience.
  • Produce documentation that is suitable for both internal and external delivery teams, i.e. allows teams to design & develop the required changes.
  • Deliver test plans and test solutions with minimal support.
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to secure agreement to documented functionality and design including formal sign off where appropriate.
  • Develop and strengthen key relationships with internal stakeholders across the business.
  • Ensure that relevant regulatory requirements, e.g. FCA rules and principles, DPA & AML regulations are adhered to during project or change development, by consulting with the relevant subject matter experts with the business as appropriate


Experience / Skills;

Essential

  • Ability to quickly understand & evaluate business requirements.
  • Ability to translate business requirements into logical and thorough documentation.
  • Ability to make recommendations based upon analysis.
  • Ability to take ownership and responsibility for delivering allocated change.
  • Strong verbal communication skills, including the ability to build and maintain relationships with colleagues, partners and suppliers.
  • Strong written communication skills including the ability to adapt documentation to the need/level of a wide variety of audiences.
  • Effective organiser, with prioritisation skills.
  • Attention to detail.

Desirable

  • At least 3 years’ experience working in a project or business change environment.
  • At least 2 years’ experience as a Business Analyst.
  • Previous experience within the General Insurance industry an advantage, but not essential.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft technologies including MS Office / Visio.
  • Understanding of MoSCoW prioritisation, Process flow mapping / documentation
  • Experience and skills in software testing and test script production
