The role of Business Analyst sits within our energetic and customer focused IT team. The role is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Business Analyst to become part of this fantastic team working on a broad range of transformation projects within VWFS. The team work to building a culture where ideas, customer insight and our products & services are developed and delivered in partnership with IT using Waterfall and Agile methodology in a flexible and dynamic way.

Your role will involve working closely with a wide range of stakeholders throughout the business to elicit, analyse and translate specific needs to produce clear, unambiguous business requirements and functional specification documents for change initiatives. You should aspire to become the Subject Matter Expert on the business’ requirements and act as the ’voice of the business’ for the project team.

Responsibilities include:

  • Assist in the creation and delivery of user stories, epics, wireframing, business requirements, business process design and functional design activities for business change initiatives.
  • Responsible for the delivery of business requirements, process and functional design for programmes and projects.
  • Proactively engage with stakeholders at all levels across the business.
  • Identify organisational impacts associated with projects, manage and mitigate any risks.
  • Provide project knowledge support to development and testing teams throughout the development and test phases.

You will enable effective delivery of projects, programmes and change initiatives to the business, particularly around collaboration on knowledge transfer, stakeholder engagement and communications. You will also contribute to project meetings to ensure that potential impacts, risk, issues, gaps and assumptions are captured, analysed and understood.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • A Business Analysis qualification (British Computer Society, or similar), or sufficient experience
  • Ability to work in a mixed Waterfall and Agile delivery environment, with Agile experience being essential
  • Ability to work at a fast pace whilst managing conflicting priorities without compromising on quality
  • Knowledge and experience of mapping complex business processes, working in Scrum Teams using Jira/Confluence
  • Knowledge of working with a Product Owner, helping to refine and prioritise items in a backlog
  • Proven track record of eliciting and delivering business requirements, business process design and functional design on change projects
  • A high level of business intelligence, strong analytical skills and commercial acumen
  • Experience of supporting complex change projects and production of feasibility studies
  • An awareness of Design Thinking methodology
  • Understanding of the legal and regulatory environment including governance, risk management, controls and compliance requirements
  • Strong problem-solving, stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Strong written and oral communication skills with the ability to present complex data and arguments
  • High level of motivation, flexibility, drive and personal commitment
  • A willingness to learn and develop new skills.

As part of our Hybrid working pilot we are giving our colleagues the opportunity to work a minimum of one day in the Milton Keynes office, potentially moving to 2 in the future so flexibility is expected
