The Role:
The Business Analyst will join the Actuarial Operations & Support team and will support the management and resolution of customer-related regulatory notifiable events.
The Business Analyst is generally responsible for understanding of user and business needs and supporting teams to visualise and deliver desired outcomes. The role contributes to the positive resolution of in-scope issues. They work as an integral part of the team building key relationships with all key stakeholders, including third party service suppliers.
Business Analyst (Notifiable Events) – Experienced Colleague:
Excels at finding solutions, execution and has a deep understanding of best practices, including :
  • Stakeholder engagement - Business & technical
  • An understanding of Life Insurance and pension products is beneficial
  • Influence best practice direction, ask probing questions to drive solutions
  • Identify problems and ensure prioritisation and escalation as appropriate
  • Responsible for producing key documentation e.g. state (As-Is) and future state (To-Be) process mapping, and user journeys
  • Running workshops and meetings with all areas of the business
Key Responsibilities for this role:
  • Investigating, understanding and capturing requirements: You’ll work with the wider team to work on requirements, to present them in a way that can be understood, and to support their build and implementation. This may be with internal teams or partners who are third parties.
  • Contribute to their team and produce the right outcomes: You’ll work across the business to help them to do the right activities and to produce the right outputs.
  • Unblock problems and issues: Work with the team to anticipate and unblock issues that they may encounter. You’ll need to be finding solutions to the problems encountered and facilitate their implementation.
  • Prioritisation: Produce analysis that informs and supports the sizing, prioritisation and tracking of issues. Help prioritise in creative ways so the work can be completed.
  • Stakeholder engagement: You will build relationships with peers and stakeholders and aim to influence them positively in the area of Business Analysis.
Key Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
  • Technology skills: good understanding of policy administrations and comfortable working in a technical team. Comfortable with detailed technical points with an ability to analyse data to draw clear and insightful conclusions.
  • Understanding business processes: Able to understand good business processes and to analyse and document current business processes clearly. Able to identify and implement opportunities for optimisation and transformation. Familiar with financial services products and practices.
  • Research and critical thinking skills: Able to take a problem and consider several possible outcomes. Able to identify the best outcome by probing and researching viable options. Able to present your findings in a way that is appropriate for the intended audience to understand.
  • People skills: Ability to interact with people at many different levels. Show and understanding of how different people think, and what motivates them in order to help determine business analysis outcomes.
  • Communication skills: A good listener who can understand what people are telling you. Effective communicator, with an ability to deliver the right level of detail, at the right frequency and in the right way. Good negotiation skills.
  • Business Analysis skills: Skilled in formal business analysis including investigation, analysis, data visualisation, problem solving and communication. Maintain awareness of the latest market trends and ‘best practice’ techniques.
