BTEC And Essential Skills Tutor

Morthyng Group Limited is a registered charity and voluntary sector training provider and a ’not for profit’ organisation that has supported the training of young people and adults.

We are seeking experienced Tutors to work with young people aged 16 – 19 on our study programmes. This is an opportunity to use your skills and experience to work with young people facing some of the greatest challenges. You will have the ability to motivate, engage, and use innovative teaching resources and have a proven track record of working with disadvantaged learners and experience in delivering BTEC Qualifications.

Some of your responsibilities will include;

  • Deliver and assess BTEC qualifications
  • Plan and deliver innovative training sessions to engage and motivate learners
  • Motivate and support learners to address barriers, both social and educational, and aid young people to identify areas for development
  • Deliver enrichment activities, work skills, employability skills, life skills, personal and social development, British Values, wider key skills and initial assessment activities
  • Prepare lesson plans, schemes of work, developing the curriculum offer, working with small groups and working on a one to one basis
  • Undertake ad hoc duties as may be required by senior management commensurate with the grade of the position held

What You Need

  • Ability to deliver BTEC qualifications
  • Good presentation, organisational, planning and time management skills
  • Strong command of subject matter with recent experience in occupational area
  • Experience and related knowledge of teaching young people aged 16-19
  • Vocational qualification at level 3 or proven experience
  • English & Mathematics Level 2 or above
  • High level of written and oral communication skills
  • Student centred in approach to teaching and learning
