Our client is an established, successful company specialising in the Accountancy sector based in Banbury. Due to a team expansion, they are now looking to acquire the services of a hard-working Bookkeeper. This is a fantastic opportunity, which would suit an individual who is a self-starter, passionate and resilient looking to work in a varied and dynamic environment.
Main Responsibilities:
- Sales invoice and purchase invoice processing.
- Bank reconciliations.
- Fixed asset registers and depreciation journals.
- Maintaining sales and purchase ledgers.
- Key balance sheet reconciliations, including PAYE and wages.
- Preparation and submission of VAT returns.
- Build strong rapport with clients and proactively handle queries.
- Liaise with clients to obtain relevant information for preparation of comptuerised bookkeeping records.
- Work as part of a team that fosters a supportive working environment.
- Ensure compliance with all VAT matters.
- Identify points for partners to raise with clients and to raise the potential for additional services.
- Attend relevant training courses and develop your skills to ensure up-to-date knowledge and best practice.
Key Skills & Experience:
- Computer literature including excellent Microsoft Office skills.
- Bookkeeping and management accounts experience with good working knowledge of VAT.
- Excellent knowledge of Xero accounting software, QuickBooks and SAGE is essential.
- Ability to build solid working relationships is essential.
- Excellent telephone manner with good interpersonal skills and communication skills.
- Ability to work on your own and in a team.
- Ability to work under pressure and prioritise work effectively and efficiently.
- Excellent organisation and administrative skills.
- Accurate data inputting skills and an eye for detail.
- Ability to use initiative in terms of decision-making.
- Good overall business knowledge.
Additional Information:
- This is a permanent role – full-time or part-time hours would be considered.
- 20 days annual leave, plus bank holidays.
- Pension scheme, death in service benefit, commission scheme for client referral/introducing new clients and staff and staff training days and social events.
