About Our Client

If you combine a business coach and an accountant, you form a company that helps client understand which levers clients need to pull to make their business successful and give all the support they need to pull them. So instead of just producing P&L’s, our client takes clients through it and help them understand between the lines, the bottom line and how they can use it to improve their business.

Developing close relationships with every single one of their clients is the focus of the business. The reason for this is very simple - it helps them to help clients better.

If you are looking for a stuffy, very formal bookkeeping practice, my client probably isn’t the right company for you.

Duties
  • Onboarding new clients
  • Training clients on how to effectively follow our processes and use our systems and software.
  • Survey and review previous bookkeeping records to ensure we start from an accurate position
  • Spending by the client is accurately recorded following the processes. This includes transactions for bills, receipts, out of pocket expenses, journals for payroll and other journals as required.
  • Selling by the client is to be recorded accurately as per the processes. This may include direct sales or cash book entries (e.g. daily takings from a Z list).
  • Synchronisation is vital on a monthly basis by reconciling all accounts (bank accounts, credit cards, etc).
  • Submission of VAT returns is to be completed in line with the process, ensuring deadlines are always met.
  • Sending bank payments are to be done in a timely manner allowing for time to authorise the payment before it is due.
  • Settling clients sales invoices (credit control)
  • Seeing reports at the correct time is important to clients and providing accurate reports on the correct date is important.
  • Sole directors and staff require regular payslips to be processed
  • Submission of a monthly RTI return must be completed on or before payday accurately. Summary reports must be provided to the client along with the payslips in a timely manner.

Requirements
  • Qualified and/or certified bookkeeper, with ICB, AAT or IAB.
  • Proficient in the use of spreadsheets and office 365/Google.
  • Has used cloud-based accounting software (Xero, Sage, QuickBooks or FreeAgent) Exceptional communication skills.
This is a full-time but would also consider part-time (minimum 30 hours) role paying between £20,000 - £22,000 depending on experience. Other perks such as 33 days holiday, Healthcare cashback plan and flexible working environment.
