Key Purpose Of The Role

You’ll be a shining star when it comes to the role of a BOH Team Member, leading by example and exceeding expectations at every turn. In addition, this role plays a key part in assisting the Kitchen Manager and/or Head Chef in meeting all business standards and legal requirements. The BOH Team Leader is expected to understand each section in the kitchen and restaurant areas, ultimately supporting the kitchen across all areas, but at times may be required to support the FOH team. The BOH Team Leader will always create a customer focused environment, anticipating customer and team needs along with enthusiasm and professionalism, in order to drive repeat business, success and brand loyalty.

Responsibilities

  • Be responsible for opening and closing the kitchen to company standards and completing all necessary kitchen safety systems.
  • Ensure that you comply with legislation regarding Security, Health & Safety, Food Hygiene and Licensing laws and as per training provided.
  • Support your Kitchen Manager and/ or Head Chef in delivering training to new and existing team members.
  • Running each section in the kitchen during service, communicating effectively with the rest of the team.
  • Assist in overall day to day management of kitchen, displaying a professional attitude and appearance at all times.
  • Ensure that all audit/ inspection requirements are adhered to, including Health & Safety and Food Safety Audits, Stock management, Financial Audits and Environmental Health visits
  • Can fully explain and demonstrate the allergen procedures
  • Ensure all food stock is rotated and in date. Food prepared to standard to reduce wastage.
  • Supports the management team to control costs without compromising standards and the customer experience.
  • Communicate key messages to the team.
  • Talk to and gain feedback from the team to appropriately resolve customer complaints and queries.
  • Get involved in team meetings.
  • Motivate the team through recognition and positive feedback.
