Astute’s Nuclear team is exclusively partnering with a leading automation and information management specialists working across various technical regulated industries, with a commitment to professional development and sustainability to recruit a BIS Project Engineer for its Middlesborough site.
The strategically important BIS Project Engineer role comes with a salary of up to £53,000 dependant on experience and the opportunity to work on leading projects within the sector.

Responsibilities And Duties
Reporting to the Project Manager you will:
- Assist in the design and implementation of key business information system solutions for customer projects, focussed on overall performance improvements.
- Participate in all project lifecycle activities, ensuring seamless execution from concept to commissioning.
- Contribute to fault-finding, preparation of design specifications and reports, software programming, and testing.
- Offer technical support and consultancy to internal and external users.
- Utilize a variety of manufacturers’ software and hardware across various industry sectors.
- Complete all tasks following the company Quality Management System.
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and with the highest level of quality.
- Support senior members of engineering teams throughout the project lifecycle.
- Assist in proposal production and specification development.
- Maintain and develop customer relationships in a highly professional manner.
- Enhance the reputation of ITS by delivering outstanding service and support.
- Provide engineering manpower support to customers under Service Level Agreements.
We are looking for someone with the following:
- Previous experience leading a team of engineers, working in a senior project role.
- Experience working within the nuclear sector or another highly regulated technical industry.
- Qualified with a Computer-related degree.
- Knowledge of programming in; VB.NET, C++ or C# and MS SQL or Oracle database experience.
- Experience in communicating with industrial plant equipment such as PLCs and SCADA systems such as Factory Talk View, WinCC or ICONICS GEN64.
- Excellent web development skills.
- Good planning, time management and documentation skills.

- Able to communicate effectively both formally and informally across internal and external teams.
- Capable of working autonomously and as part of a team.
- Salary between £45,000 to £53,000
- 20 days holiday + Bank holidays
