The RPS Energy business has a newly created position for a Bid Manager. In this role, you will be involved in the complete bid life cycle, leading complex multi-disciplinary bids, framework management, and providing expert bid coordination and management to deliver compelling offerings to our clients and help us win business.

Reporting to the Strategic Business Development Director, you will collaborate closely with the wider Bid team and interact with other colleagues involved in technical delivery, business development, commercial, legal, and marketing.

In addition to building relationships with our technical team and interfacing with bid teams in other parts of our business, this role also provides key input into the management of our new business opportunities alongside the RPS management team. This role will primarily focus on delivering our diverse offshore energy bids in the EAME region. As we continue to expand into new markets globally, this role is expected to grow to support other energy tenders globally.

The role will suit a Bid Manager who has developed their experience within a consulting, professional services, marine or offshore engineering organisation. Ideally you will have APMP or another bid/project management qualification.

We have office bases in Aberdeen, Edinburgh, Chepstow and Woking and can consider remote working for the right applicant. The role is full time and permanent

With the new leasing rounds to be consented across the early 2020’s, there is plenty of work to be done.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Project manage the bid process for our offshore energy bids, ensuring schedules, deadlines and quality are met
  • Implement improvements to internal processes related to business acquisition
  • Ensure pre-qualification and tender documentation is prepared in accordance with Company’s lMS and in consultation with appropriate teams
  • Analyse bid documentation and capture activity to inform bid strategy and win themes
  • Develop written content, working alongside our subject matter experts (SMEs)
  • Produce high quality bid documents that are clear, concise, and visually engaging
  • Coordinate technical, commercial, and contractual inputs into bids
  • Produce accurate bid pricing for internal approval and to meet with bid requirements
  • Seek and ensure appropriate bid review and quality control prior to submission
  • Negotiate contract terms in consultation with the Strategic Business Development Director and internal legal reviews.
  • Provide bid handover information to project managers
  • Seek and distribute internal and external feedback to support continuous improvement
  • Ensure that all work is undertaken to the highest quality and professionalism in accordance with the company’s IMS, QMS and Energy Sites Bidding Process and in consultation with appropriate teams
Who We’re Looking For
  • Effective and confident communication and influencing skills at all levels
  • Demonstrable bid writing skills with ability to present written information in a compelling, structured, and balanced way
  • Strong organisational and project management skills with demonstrable understanding of bid processes
  • Attention to detail to ensure accuracy and consistency within documents and compliance with tender requirements with a keen eye for good document design/layout
  • Personable and able to build relationships internally and externally with a strong Client-centric attitude (internal and external)
  • Competency in MS Office suite of products including Office 365 with digital acumen including Adobe InDesign and SharePoint
  • Sound numerical skills
  • Ability to prioritise workload and multi-task to meet deadlines with the ability and flexibility to work individually and as a member of a team
  • Professional and positive attitude with the ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to be proactive and solution-orientated
  • Degree level or equivalent education
