McLaughlin & Harvey are one of the leading Building and Civil Engineering Contractors operating throughout the UK and Ireland.

We have invested significantly in developing innovative software solutions to support our business, and we have an exciting opportunity for an experienced BI Developer to join our busy IT team.

Responsibilities

The BI Developer will be responsible for the development and maintenance of McLaughlin & Harvey’s BI capabilities. In addition as BI Developer you will also be responsible for the following duties:
  • Designing, specifying, and building visual reports, KPI scorecards, and dashboards using Business Intelligence tools and techniques
  • Solving both simple and complex problems quickly and accurately
  • Work within a team environment and under your own initiative
  • Translate business problems into technical requirements/outcomes
  • Work closely and be in involved with future development projects that improve our analysis and reporting capabilities
  • Provide a level of technical support for our in-house developed web applications ensuring support calls are closed within service level targets
Experience

Essential skills and experience:
  • SQL server (SSIS, SSAS, SSRS)
  • Strong knowledge of T-SQL
  • Experience / Exposure to SQL DW
  • Experience in creating DAX queries and using the functions and operators in Power BI desktop
  • Experience in developing reports and dashboards in Power BI

  • Self-motivated and well organised
  • A passion for technology and a desire to succeed
The successful BI Developer will be office based in our Bellshill office so we cannot consider remote working applicants.
