We at the Butchers Social have moved. We are looking at a bigger and brighter 2021 and with that in mind we have purchased The Forest Hotel in Dorridge. We at The Butchers Social started our life in Harborne as a one night pop up turned 9 month incubation. The Butchers Social was cemented in Henley in Arden and has been a huge success for over 4 years. With success comes growth and with the expansion comes opportunity. We are currently looking for an experienced Bar Manager to join us on this journey. So we ask, are you passionate about delivering excellent service? If the answers are yes to these questions, then we really want you to join our awesome team What you will do: As a key member of our hotel’s hospitality staff, our bar manager must ensure the bar operates smoothly, with sufficient stock and staff at all times. The ideal candidate in this position must thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, maintaining a courteous demeanour with customers, as well as effectively make use of quiet times. Strong leadership and personnel management skills should be accompanied by a customer service focus and commitment to company values and image. The bar manager pays close attention to all operational details to ensure the comfort, safety and enjoyment of guests and job satisfaction of staff, as well as the financial success of the establishment. Bar Manager Responsibilities: Monitor inventory of beverages to ensure adequate stock is maintained and to prevent excess pours or abuse by staff. Requisition purchases as needed. Oversee cleanliness of staff and physical bar area, paying special attention to possible health hazards and code violations. Review sales and beverage costs, and reconcile any discrepancies in accounting. Ensure proper cash management. Resolve customer complaints promptly and according to company guidelines. Oversee the preparation of beverages and ensure quality of product served. Bar Manager skills: Proficiency with point-of-sale software. Extensive working knowledge of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. Knowledge of regulations related to alcohol service and health code compliance. Competency in resource management and inventory control. Customer service orientation. Knowledge of basic accounting principles, personnel management and marketing. This candidate should possess the following: Able to handle with fast pace of work. Ability to diffuse tense situations and resolve conflicts. Willingness to work during peak hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Effectively delegate responsibilities and maximize resources. Decisiveness. Ability to walk, stand, and occasionally carry heavy items in a fast-paced, stressful environment. Possess of prior experience working in a bar. Able to communicate clearly and able to work in a team. Have the knowledge of cocktails (seasonal) alcoholic drinks and coffee. Job Types: Full-time Part time Permanent Salary: £24,000 – £28,000 depending on experience Additional pay: Tips Covid procedures: Temperature checking before shift Hand sanitisers PPE supplied You will be working in an environment that will enable you to develop your service knowledge, knowledge of food and hospitality skills.
