We are looking for care workers to join our bank staff. Joining our Bank of casual staff allows you to choose shifts that are convenient to you and required by St Monica Trust.

Please note: Under current Covid rules we are not permitted to offer additional work to anyone currently employed within another care home.

As Care Worker at The Chocolate Quarter you’ll assist residents with all aspects of personal care as directed by senior care colleagues. Demonstrating compassion, patience and care at all times, one of your top priorities will be meeting residents’ social and spiritual needs. You’ll be responsible for creating interesting, fun and engaging activities to benefit their well-being and ensure that meaningful activities are provided throughout the day. With a friendly and welcoming approach you’ll prioritise residents’ needs and requests and give emotional support when needed.


Additional duties will include maintaining electronic and paper records and providing support in the administration of medication and clinical activity. Quick to build positive working relationships you’ll also undertake a key worker role for some residents. You’ll provide person centred care and escort residents to hospital appointments and activities as required.

What we’re looking for

For this role an ability to attend to personal care needs is essential. You should be confident using computerised systems and have clear written and verbal communication skills. Experience working with older or disabled people or those with dementia is desirable.

You will need to have NVQ2 or NVQ3 in Health and Social Care or the Care Certificate.
