We are seeking an enthusiastic and compassionate clinician who has expertise in formulation-based interventions and who has a passion for supporting and assisting young people with complex needs.

The post holder will have a pivotal role within the MDT. The team is well-established within the cluster of clinical services in Aylesbury. The team forms part of the integrated clinical services departments, who meet regularly to jointly discuss complex cases, referrals, formulations and service development.

The successful candidate will provide specialist psychological assessment and therapy to young adults. Knowledge of neurodevelopmental disorders & trauma-informed models of care is therefore likely to be particularly helpful.

There are established forensic and clinical psychologists already working within our clinical services teams whom you will be working alongside, and you will be involved in new pathways of care for the young adults here.

There is scope for service development in line with the wider prison’s rehabilitation culture and trauma-informed care agenda. Responsibilities will include offering advice and consultation on clients’ psychological care to non-psychology colleagues. You will also have opportunities to provide supervision to more junior staff as well as provide training to other staff working within the prison.

There are ample opportunities for personal development (CPD) and you will receive professional supervision from a Consultant Clinical Psychologist.

The successful candidate will have excellent oral and written communication skills and a proven ability to make evidence-based, informed decisions within a complex, rapidly changing and demanding environment. You must have an ability to work flexibly according to the needs of the patient, and will enjoy the support of a stable, motivated team of clinicians dedicated to the provision of the highest possible standard of clinical care and treatment.
