Job summary

The Infrastructure Lifecycle Management Team is responsible for ensuring that the Trusts IT infrastructure is continuously refreshed, modernised and is supportable by the appropriate 3rd party vendors.

We are looking to build a team to utilise and implement methodologies and plans to facilitate the delivery of the lifecycle change programme. Furthermore to build professional relationships, implement change and provide subject matter expertise to avoid operational and Cyber impact where changes are made to the infrastructure.

Main duties, tasks & skills required

The role of the Project Manager is to support the Infrastructure Lifecycle Management Programme. This includes supporting the maintenance and refresh of network and voice services, provide assistance where required to the Server refresh project, and to ensure key project documentation is accurately recorded and maintained.

The successful candidate will manage a mixture of medium to large sized projects concurrently so the ability to manage time and resources is essential.

Desirable skills and experience;

Prince 2 qualified

Experienced with Microsoft Project or Project for the Web

Excellent communication skills

High standard of maintaining project documentation information accurately and efficiently Experienced with presenting Change to a Project Change Control Board

Experience of managing medium to large sized projects

NHS experience

Good understanding of network infrastructure

Good understanding of voice services

Good understanding of Server/application environment including both on premise and cloud hosted services

Thorough understanding of the full project lifecycle

Good experience of managing network refresh or upgrades

Good experience of managing voice service refresh or upgrades

Good experience of managing Server OS upgrades / application upgrades / server decommissioning

Experience of managing 3rd party suppliers

Experience of managing staff

Experience of budget management

IT degree or equivalent industry qualification and relevant experience in an IT related job

Experience

Relevant experience within an IT environment including actual experience of project management which includes a period in an NHS environment. (E)

Experience of managing a multi-disciplinary project team (E)

Full project life cycle experience in medium and large IT projects, with strong skills in the planning and

implementation phases (E)

Delivering projects on time and to budget (E)

Writing and presenting IT business cases E)

A good understanding of project risk and issue management (E)

Presenting internally and externally, and at all levels (E)

A good understanding of NHS strategies and plans and how they affect delivery of IT within Trusts (E)
