AWP CAMHS has developed a rolling program me of comprehensive in house training incorporating the core CAMHS competencies framework that is open to all staff.Clinical leadership role within the Urgent Care teamClinical supervision of staffRepresent the service at multiagency meetingsCaseload management of the teamEnsuring case allocations, transfer and discharge patients through the serviceComplex care management and multiagency workingAn in depth knowledge of the mental health act, mental capacity act, and children’s safeguarding principles safeguarding principlesWorking closely with psychiatric liaison, assertive outreach and community care coordinatorsAn understanding of key therapeutic models including DBT, CBT, trauma recovery model, systemic family therapy and attachment theory.Caseload audits, including monthly risk assessment and care and treatment plan auditsLeading on cases that require high risk management including complex discharge plans, safety planning and attending multiagency escalation calls.Working with multiagency partners including schools, social care, police, hospitals, care coordinators and families.Advocating for patients, team members and the needs of the service at a senior level.To provide the role of nursing within the team and support the development of student nurses and preceptorships.We are a progressive and dynamic service that work using evidence-based therapeutic treatments and approaches but also foreground anti-oppressive practice and diversity and equality as part of our daily working.We have an extensive staff wellbeing offer (workshops and walks as well robust supervision and training) and lots of team social activities such as paddle boarding, meals out, yoga, BBQs and socials.
