Sanctuary Personnel is currently seeking an experienced Band 5 Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) to take on a new locum opportunity to work across various wards at Swallownest Court in Rotherham.

Swallownest Court provides treatment and care for adults who are experiencing mental health problems. It is comprised of two acute wards (Sandpiper and Osprey), a psychiatric intensive care unit (Kingfisher) and a rehabilitation ward (Goldcrest).

Location:Swallownest Court, Rotherham.

Pay Rate: £21 - £34 per hour (assignment rate):
  • Days: £21 per hour
  • Nights/Saturdays: £27.29 per hour
  • Sundays/Bank Holidays: £33 - £34 per hour

Contract Type: Locum, ongoing block booking or adhoc shifts. All shift patterns will be considered.

Requirements of the Mental Health Nurse:
  • Degree or equivalent in Mental Health Nursing.
  • Experience working as a Mental Health Nurse.
  • NMC Registration.

Additional Information:

Sandpiper and Osprey Wards
  • Sandpiper and Osprey wards make up the acute admission unit. They provide beds on a sectorised basis for clients between the ages of 16 and 65 years old.
  • All admissions are gatekept by the Crisis Resolution Team according to their individual needs. Care and treatment is based on a multi-disciplinary approach incorporating medical, nursing, occupational therapy and psychology services. They also provide planned drug and alcohol detoxification programmes with drug and alcohol services.

Kingfisher Ward (Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit)
  • Kingfisher provides intensive care beds for service users who are deemed high risk with acute mental health problems on a temporary basis requiring intensive interventions.
  • Admission to the ward is via the Crisis Team or transfer from the open wards. They also provide assessment for service users detained under Section 136 by the police.

Goldcrest Ward
  • Goldcrest ward provides care and treatment for clients after the acute phase of their illness, with a social inclusive approach to recovery and a return to independent living.
