About The Role

A Wind Turbine Safety Rules Authorising Engineer is responsible for ensuring that all wind turbine operations adhere to the safety rules and regulations set by industry and regulatory bodies. They will develop and implement safety rules, procedures and work instructions for wind turbine operations and monitor adherence to those rules.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement safety rules and procedures for wind turbine operations.
  • Ensure compliance with industry and regulatory safety rules and regulations.
  • Create, review, and approve safety documentation for wind turbine operations.
  • Provide safety training and education for wind turbine personnel.
  • Investigate safety incidents and accidents and develop corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence.
  • Maintain records of safety incidents, audits, and corrective actions.
  • Keep up to date with industry and regulatory safety rules and regulations.
  • Collaborate with engineering, maintenance personnel, and operations personnel to ensure safety rules are effectively implemented.

Requirements

  • Relevant technical qualification
  • Proven experience in a safety engineering role in the wind turbine industry.
  • Strong knowledge of industry and regulatory safety rules and regulations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to analyse data and make sound safety recommendations.
  • Experience with safety auditing and inspection processes.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to develop effective corrective actions.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to travel to wind turbine sites for safety inspections and audits.
