Greater Glasgow & Clyde forms the largest Health Authority in the UK which provides Audiology services over a large area of inner city and rural populations. The role of the Assistant will be to support Audiologists in the provision of Audiology and Hearing care to the population of Greater Glasgow & Clyde. The assistant will, after a period of in
house training, carry out basic hearing aid checks/ maintenance where necessary, earmould maintenance, impression-taking and battery issue. The Audiology Assistant also carries out administrative and clerical duties, room preparation and stock control/ordering. Training and supervision will be provided.
his post requires membership of Disclosure Scotland’s PVG Scheme.
Essential for this post
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills coupled with proven
experience of supporting/ communicating with people with hearing loss,
and their significant others.
  • IT skills demonstrated in a work setting, preferably to include regular
report writing and/or database update.
  • Proven ability to work in a team as well as independently, being able to
make decisions within own remit when working single handed.
  • Evidence of prioritising, organising and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven ability to learn new skills and processes quickly, to work
accurately at fast pace and be adaptable.
  • Minimum 4 standard grades/national 5 qualifications required, one of
which to include a science or technical subject.
Desirable
  • Experience working in a healthcare setting.
  • Experience operating appointment booking systems in a healthcare
setting.
  • Experience in using digital hearing aid software and/or supplying
hearing aids
The shift pattern is; Hours to be worked during Monday – Friday 9.00AM – 5.00PM
