Job ProfileI am currently recruiting for an Associate Architectural Technician / Technologist to join an award winning Architectural Practice based in Portishead. This is an exciting opportunity for an Associate Architectural Technician / Technologist to work for a market leader. The most suitable candidate must hold previous work experience of working for a national house builder/developer. The company already has over 65 employees working for them and due to success in winning new work they are looking to expand that existing workforce and recruit an Associate Architectural Technician / Technologist.This opportunity would suit an Associate Architectural Technician / Technologist with excellent knowledge of building regulations, the successful individual will be involved in completing a number of duties including preparing masterplans and producing planning’s drawings for submission within the residential and mixed use areas. This role is very much hands-on, so the production of working drawings and technical documents is part of everyday work. In addition, this role requires experience of team management including monitoring of deadlines, managing workload, timescales, carrying out employee reviews as well as ensuring compliance with current legislation.The successful candidate would be expected to contribute to the ongoing development and review of company standards and policies. Good client liaison skills and effective communication with other associated professions is essential.Experience of working for developer clients and national house builders is required and a sound technical knowledge and an in-depth understanding of The Building Regulations is essential.Associate Architectural Technician / Technologist Position Overview
  • Holding presentations
  • Working on a mixture of residential and mixed use projects
  • Preparing masterplans and producing drawings for submission
  • Abiding by the building regulations at all times
  • Day to day allocation of workload amongst the team
  • Daily monitoring of projects and deadlines
  • Active production of working drawings required to meet deadlines and maintaining a ’hands on’ status
  • Manage, produce and delegate, as required in line with client brief under the direction of the Associate Director
  • Produce Production drawings, Risk Assessment documents, supporting technical schedules such as steel schedules and any other work delegated as instructed by the Directors
  • Carry out co-ordination checking of sub-contractors information and liaise with all relevant parties of as necessary
Associate Architectural Technician / Technologist Position Requirements
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience (UK based) working on residential/mixed-use projects for developer clients and/or national housebuilders
  • Sound technical knowledge and in depth understanding of building regulations
  • Experience in managing a team
  • Proficient in the use of AutoCAD
  • Revit experience desirable but not essential
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • A team participant and a proficient communicator
  • Full UK driving licence
