Assistant Store Manager

Age UK Brighton London Road is one of our fast paced stores in the region, and one of only a few with a range of vintage and retro clothing in the Age UK retail network.

At over 800 square feet, this store has the potential to be one of the top performing shops in the region. To achieve that goal, we need an experienced Assistant Store Manager with the ambition, passion, and determination to help drive the shop forward.

Supported by an experienced Store Manager, the successful candidate will help to manage a dedicated team of employees and volunteers, providing a quality retail service, aiming to surpass targets and expectations, and ensuring every customer has a great shopping experience.

This fantastic opportunity is available on a permanent Full time (35 hour) or a Part time (28 hour) basis (Please state in your cover letter which you would prefer) .

Due to the nature of this role, you will be required to handle/lift bags of stock (up to 10kgs)

You will have:

• Proven retail experience, and a passion for retail
• The skills to enjoy leading and inspiring people and always offering excellent customer service levels
• A positive outlook with great communication skills.
• The ability to recruit, support and train the volunteers in the shop as required by the shop manager
• The ability to encourage engagement in the shop and the work of Age UK
• The skills to generate stock donations to meet sales requirements

Please note that travel within the region where required in the performance of the job, to provide cover in another shop, or for training activities
