Dakota Hotel in Leeds are seeking a skilled tradesperson for the role of Assistant Maintenance Manager. Working within a maintenance team of four, you will work closely with the Maintenance Manager to lead the team and work hands-on on planned and reactive maintenance throughout the building. The successful candidate will have experience in working within a given trade such as experience in electrical work, plumbing, or joinery, and take a pride in their work, finishing off jobs with exacting standards.

Dakota Hotel Leeds is an 84-bedroom luxury hotel centrally located on Greek Street, just a 5min walk from Leeds Train Station. We are easily accessible by public transport, close to the east parade bus link and within a 10min walk to Leeds Bus Station.

CONTRACT & PAY RATE

The role carries a permanent full-time contract for 40 hours per week. Your working pattern will be 09:00-17:30 or 09:30-18:00, working Monday-Friday or Tuesday-Saturday based on the rota in place at the time.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support the Maintenance Manager in supervising team members through positive reinforcement and continuous on-the-job training.
  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance, as well as reactive maintenance, of the building, carrying out general maintenance tasks such as grouting, light carpentry, painting, and general ‘DIY’ tasks.
  • Action schedules to ensure the fabric of the building is both aesthetically well-maintained, as well as wholly compliant with all areas of legislation.
  • Complete and maintain facilities paperwork with a basic understanding of health and safety.
  • Manage team members in a positive manner, ensuring all maintenance works are completed to the highest possible standard in a timely manner.

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

  • Have qualifications in your chosen trade in areas such as plumbing, electrics or joinery.
  • Have at least two years experience in a trade-based role with a good aptitude to carrying out varied maintenance-based tasks.
  • Be a proactive individual with at least one years working experience in a supervisory or management role.
  • Have at least one years experience working in a hospitality or retail environment.
  • Qualifications in health and safety are beneficial, but not mandatory as full training will be provided.
  • Be task oriented with a great pride for the work they do and attention to detail.
