Evac are looking for an individual to join their finance team in Chesterfield, UKwho is dynamic and eager to learn. They must be willing to study in their own time because the company will sponsor their training towards a chartered accounting qualification.


Purpose of the role

1. To assist the Management Accountant with completing various accounting tasks.

2. To provide cover when needed to other parts of the Accounting and Finance

Department.

3. To maintain good professional relationships with all internal and external customers.


Accountabilities and
Responsibilities

1.To assist the Management Accountant in completing the monthly and annual accounts.

2. Posting of journals as needed within the accounts.

3. Assisting in the review of account code postings to ensure costs and revenues are accounted for correctly in the accounts.

4. Undertaking contra exercises to match accounts receivable and accounts payable where these are with the same company.

5. Assist in the monitoring and reporting of inventory, including assisting in the stock taking process.

6. Assist in the annual audit, working with the external auditors to provide required documentation and to answer questions about the accounts as needed.

7. Set-up / approve payments on the bank (dual authentication needed).

8. Process credit card statements and receipts, making appropriate posts in the ledger. Administrate credit cards to ensure users have appropriate limits and can access their cards.

9. Process expenses forms and post receipts as needed.

10. Manage and account for petty cash, including foreign currency.

11. Assist with the posting of purchase invoices, reconciliation of supplier statements and provide cover for the Purchase Ledger function when needed.

12. Assist with the posting of customer payments and provision of statements to customers. Provide cover for the Credit Control function when needed.

13. Provide other financial analysis and projects as required by the business.

14. Any other duties commensurate with the role.


Experience Required

1. Previous experience in an Accounts department preferable.

2. Able to study towards a recognised Chartered Accounting qualification (e.g. CIMA or ACCA).

3. Strong academic acumen and ability to pass examinations first time.

4. Computer literate, able to use Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.

5. Effective communicator, including by telephone, email and in person.

6. Experience of using SAP Business One an advantage.


Qualifications Required

1. Educated to degree level or equivalent.

2. No formal accounting qualifications required, but advantageous.

3. Able to begin studying for towards a recognised Chartered Accounting qualification (e.g. CIMA or ACCA).
