JOB DESCRIPTION: Asset Operations Manager – Highways

We are looking to employ an Asset Operations professional who will be responsible for a team of 22 direct reports and be a “hands on” manager, as well as delivering operations and maintenance of the civil, M&E and facilities assets that make up the highway, to ensure delivery in line with the companies Safety and performance standards, contract requirements and relevant legislation/

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Asset Operations Manager – Highways

A more detailed brief will be made available to those who are shortlisted but in short, you will:
  • Be responsible for the Operations and Maintenance of the highway including Winter Maintenance programme.
  • Ensure the delivery of high quality 24/365 incident support service, ensuring the availability of suitably capable and trained teams as well as specialist vehicles and equipment as and when required.
  • Maintain roadway in accordance with our contractual agreements, DfT Policy and other regulatory frameworks
  • Management of the facilities maintenance of all buildings across the estate.
  • Manage contractors ensuring that they are effectively manage in terms of safety, level of service and financial control.
  • Ensure that the company has the appropriate range of vehicles, plant, and equipment to meet the business requirements.
  • Deliver and monitor effective and efficient operations in line with business plan.
  • Produce a 3 year business plan

PERSON SPECIFICATION: Asset Operations Manager – Highways

We would be delighted to receive applications from individuals who meet the following brief:
  • Significant experience of maintenance within large infrastructure organisations, i.e. Highways
  • Knowledge and understanding of highway and facilities legal and regulatory requirement’s
  • Proven track record in a Senior Operational role linked to improving safety: asset management, operations or service delivery.
  • Formal qualification in either a Civil or Mechanical Discipline
  • Experience of maintenance within large infrastructure organisations.
  • Any knowledge of operations and maintenance of high-speed roads infrastructure in the UK would be of particular interest
