Working within our apprenticeship team, the Functional Skills Lecturer will be responsible for supporting learners in English and Maths functional skills qualifications at level 1 and 2. This role will be fundamental to ensuring learners achieve their qualifications as part of their apprenticeship programme. This role will include classroom teaching (weekly sessions and block release) and MS Teams delivery.
The successful applicant will have prior experience of delivering GCSE, Functional Skills or Key Skills.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
- To maintain accurate records of candidate progress, tracking and achievement.
- To communicate progress and provide feedback to the assessors and Head of Sector and encourage full support and commitment to the partnership. This will involve regular and open discussion, advising on learner progress, any issues relating to the programme, and an awareness of other learning opportunities and support offered by the College.
- To facilitate functional skills learning to all apprentices across England through either group sessions or a blended learning approach using online resources, MS Teams and an e-portfolio.
- Substantial relevant subject experience.
- Experience working with apprenticeship provision or functional skills delivery.
- Knowledge of devising assessment materials and systems in line with awarding body requirements.
- Approachability, adaptiveness and flexibility.
