We are recruiting for an Apprentice Nursery Practitioner who shares our ambition and vision to deliver the Best of Care by the Best People and has the drive to take us forward, by ensuring that the Trust continues to be the first choice for patients and our staff.

Carry out duties under supervision to support the care, learning and development of young children aged between 6 months and five years.

Follow practices and procedures as directed to protect and safeguard children

Work collaboratively within the age group rooms and wider staff team.

Work towards successful completion of the Level 3 Early Years Educator Apprenticeship Standard, which includes the Level 3 Early Years Educator qualification.

To provide continuity of care for the groups of children within the day nursery ensuring that each child is provided with a safe, secure, emotionally, and physically stimulating environment and programme of activities in which to develop.

Participate in supporting children’s learning and development experiences under the direction and supervision of the Senior Nursery Practitioner/Early Years Foundation Stage Lead.

Use knowledge and understanding of the EYFS, child development stages and learning theories to support observation, planning and assessment that consider children’s individual needs.

Assist staff in delivering learning and development experiences based on children’s individual needs and good practice models.

Communicate effectively with children, parents/carers, colleagues and others.

Model a warm and professional approach and positive outlook to children, families, colleagues and others at all times.

Work under direction and in a spirit of collaboration and co-operation with all colleagues.

Following Policies, procedures and practices, always maintain respect and confidentiality including data protection.

Support and promote the nursery ethos valuing and celebrating diversity, providing all children equal opportunity to contribute to their learning and development.

Participate in nursery improvement plans to benefit children and other nursery users.

Liaise with work based mentors – planning own learning, linking theories to practical tasks and activities within the nursery in order to meet the agreed and self-set training and development objectives and complete their level 3 Early years qualification, as part of the wider Apprenticeship Standard.

To comply with specific legal requirements set out in the Statutory Framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage, Section 3 – The Welfare Requirements, keeping children healthy, safe and secure where their individual needs are met.

To ensure that the safety and welfare of children is paramount within the setting and any child protection concerns are always appropriately acted upon immediately following Medway Safeguarding Children Partnership (MSCP) and Trust guidelines.
