What You Will Do

Our Industrial Refrigeration (IREF) division delivers project solutions, maintenance & service solutions that support our customers manufacturing, cold storage and R&D testing requirements. We are the equipment manufacturer for SABROE, Frick Compressors & York products, industry leaders in industrial refrigeration.

You will be working with trained engineers located nationally providing project solutions along with planned, preventative & reactive works to our target sectors being meat, poultry, food manufacturing, beverage, cold storage, general manufacturing, leisure, pharmaceutical & automotive.

As part of your apprenticeship, you will attend and advanced level 3 refrigeration and heat pump training course.

How You Will Do It
  • Your training will prepare you to be the direct contact for the client for site technical service and maintenance issues, when trained you will be responsible for troubleshooting and resolving industrial refrigeration/chiller systems within a set timeframe and according to a defined process, service agreement and customer needs.
  • You will carry out system planned preventative maintenance as per contract requirements communicating findings and any further actions required or recommendations for system improvement, upgrades or optimisations.
  • As an Engineer, you will keep the customer advised on the service you are providing. Prepare detailed reports/technical communications on work carried out and submit to Service Co-ordinator & Client as required.
  • Health and Safety will be at the forefront of everything you do. Although often working without accompaniment you will be part of a team and contribute towards its success.
  • We will provide you with a company van and the required role specific tool (excluding hand tools) to complete the field based roles travelling across the region employed to serve our client base.
What We Look For

Entry requirements
  • Applicants must have a minimum of National 5’s in Maths and English.
Essential Requirement
  • Full manual driving licence.
  • Clean criminal record
  • IT skills; able to use Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Teams and Word
  • Motivated to learn and develop self
  • Good team working skills
Application Process

  • Shortlisted candidates will be invited to a local assessment which will take place in May.
  • Full details for each stage will be shared in advance to allow for preparation.
  • Successful candidates will start in August and September 2023
