About the role

The Building Services Engineer Apprentice will build their knowledge and expertise in design in our integrated design processes - supporting their wider team. You will also work with others within the multi-disciplinary team and assist in the production of designs and associated deliverables for some of the most exciting buildings projects across the UK.

You will utilise your skills, qualifications, experience and knowledge to work together in a motivated and integrated team, with clearly defined reporting lines, roles, responsibilities and authorities.

A Building Services Engineering Apprentice will assist in the delivery of technical solutions, providing support to the other technicians and engineers in your team. Your main responsibilities can include:

  • Supporting the wider business units to gain a broader understanding of building services engineering
  • Supporting the mechanical leads as required in the delivery of technical outputs of projects and the seamless sharing of information with other discipline teams
  • Contribution to the design of Lighting, Electrics, HVAC and mechanical engineering services including heating, ventilation, domestic services and auxiliary systems
  • Simple application of industry standard design and calculation software
  • Preparation of simple calculations to support design development
  • Gaining experience in preparation of reports, drawings and specifications
Here’s What You’ll Need:
  • 3 A Levels (or equivalent) in any subject OR a Level 3 qualification in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering
  • Achieved a grade C/4 or above in at least 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) including Mathematics and English

Desirable Skills & Characteristics:

  • Strong numeracy skills
  • Confident communication skills both written and verbal
  • Experience of using MS office packages; particularly Microsoft Excel

You should be able to demonstrate that you are:

  • A well-mannered and professional individual with a positive ‘can do’ attitude. Proactive in nature who takes pride in ‘getting things done’ to a high standard.
  • Able to demonstrate a keen interest in a career in Project Management within the engineering & construction environment
