Our housebuilding business operates across 13 regional offices, which are currently developing around 200 sites across England. The design and construction blend tradition and innovation, creating homes and developments with contemporary living standards. Our product range includes one-bedroom apartments through to larger five-bedroom family homes.

In a Nutshell:

We have an exciting opportunity for Apprentice Bricklayer to join our team within Vistry Housebuilding Cotswolds, at our Tigworth site. As our Apprentice Bricklayer you will complete apprenticeship over three years of the apprenticeship course. Work with sub-contractors and ensure regular updates are provided to the Site Manager. Complete all relevant apprenticeship paperwork for course as required.

This is a fixed term full time contract for the duration of the qualification.

What we would like from you:

Key Responsibilities –
  • Ensure compliance with the Company’s health and safety and environmental policies and procedures.
  • Follow Company guidelines in relation to accident and incident reporting procedures.
  • Attend health and safety and other training courses that are required by the Company.
  • Attend college as required and be committed to the course and apprenticeship.
  • Work alongside our sub-contractor on site and follow the instructions of their supervisor. This will (at the start) be very much labouring duties where you will learn how they work and operate. It will later develop into bricklaying.
  • Work alongside the site team when needed, i.e. on a rainy day when the bricklayers are not on site, you will still be expected to stay and do a day’s work where you will learn about site operations which will give extra experience.
Competencies –
  • 4 GCSE’s/O Level’s or equivalent including Maths and English at Grade C or above (or projected)
  • No experience necessary but must be able to demonstrate a genuine interest in the construction industry
  • Positive outlook
  • Comfortable in taking instructions
  • Happy to work outdoors
  • Able to work with others
  • Able to demonstrate dedication and willingness to learn on site
  • A willingness to attend an off-site training centre and complete the necessary practical and theory units
  • Behave in line with our values
  • A commitment to work as required to meet the needs of the business
  • A willingness to travel to different sites to aid development
