API Tech Solutions Architect

As a Barclays API Tech Solutions Architect, your main focus will be Solution Design where you will formulate high-level and detailed design of software and infrastructure for API Platforms components and support to the wider API Platforms teams in E2E delivery. Also, Project Consultancy –will play a big part in this role where you will support projects from across the Barclays organization in delivering APIs; and advise on API best practice, standards, and architecture patterns

What will you be doing?

  • Providing technical consultancy for new initiatives, to assist in the definition of business solutions or technical strategies.
  • Acting as a trusted adviser to project teams to interpret the API Strategy and understand the API Platform technologies
  • Providing input, contribute and review Architecture Visions and High Level designs for projects using the API Platforms
  • Providing estimates for engineering work in the production of Advice and Guidance (A&G) documents and project Plan and Estimates (P&Es).
  • Solving unique and complex technical problems with broad impact on the business unit as a whole.
  • Providing full and detailed analysis, insightful commentary and recommendations for technical action as appropriate.

What We’re Looking For

  • Production of detailed technical documentation
  • End-to-end software development lifecycle
  • API Management tools; (Mulesoft, Akana, Istio, etc.)
  • Security frameworks; (OAuth, OIDC)

Skills That Will Help You In The Role

  • Exceptional level of experience of IT software development/Design/Architecture (essential)
  • Good Level of understanding of Micro services architectures and implementation considerations
  • Excellent understanding of networking and infrastructure principles
  • Cloud Technologies (AWS)
