Our dynamic Camden service have an Exciting Opportunity: Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB) & Cuckooing Drug & Alcohol Keyworker.

We have an exciting opportunity for an ASB & Cuckooing Recovery Coordinator with the skills and experience to engage with service users affected by cuckooing and ASB due to addiction. You’ll ensure they access timely interventions tailored to their needs.

Our Camden service is a dynamic and multidisciplinary team consisting of service managers, consultant psychiatrists, doctors, nurses, healthcare assistants, recovery staff, volunteers, administrators, and peer mentors. Together, we’re committed to providing the best possible support and interventions for individuals using our services.

Location:
Camden, Greater London.

Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Salary: £26,393 - £30,316 (dependent on experience) plus Inner London Weighting £3,915.44

Responsibilities:

About the Role:

In this dynamic role, you will:
  • Assisting in law enforcement efforts related to drug and alcohol issues, including outreach in high-risk areas and operations addressing cuckooing. The Metropolitan Police and the community safety team are currently identifying around 100 properties where cuckooing is occurring, with a significant number of these involving individuals with unaddressed substance misuse needs.
  • Assist individuals in accessing treatment.
  • Participate in hotspot operations with a focus on supporting prolific shoplifters in accessing treatment.
  • Provide screening, assessment, and recovery planning, with onward referrals.
  • Play a vital role in reducing drug and alcohol-related harm to service users and the broader community.
  • Collaborate with criminal justice services to enhance their understanding of local drug and alcohol support, treatment pathways, and harm minimisation approaches.
  • Advocate for access to partnership services.
  • Work with service users to facilitate social reintegration, empowering them to lead meaningful lives, promoting recovery, resilience, peer support, and self-determination.
The ASB & Cuckooing Drug & Alcohol Keyworker will be a part of the Criminal Justice Intervention Team (CJIT), specialising in supporting individuals referred from prison and probation services for assistance with drug and/or alcohol addiction. The individuals you support may be victims of cuckooing and ASB or subject to enforcement by the Police or housing services due to complaints related to ASB resulting from their homes being cuckooed.

About You:

To excel in this role, you should:
  • Possess a deep understanding of substance misuse issues and have experience in a similar field.
  • Be an excellent communicator, both verbally and in writing, with strong IT skills.
  • Demonstrate proactivity and the ability to work independently, with exceptional time management and prioritisation skills.
  • Have a solid working knowledge of mental health interventions, services, and best practices.
  • Be a supportive team player with strong interpersonal skills, capable of collaborating with diverse professionals, agencies, and internal/external stakeholders.
  • Exhibit the ability to manage change effectively while prioritizing the needs of service users.
  • Understand the importance of information governance processes and commit to applying necessary safeguards.
  • Seek out learning opportunities to improve and broaden your professional knowledge and skills, and contribute to the growth of others.
