The Business A leading manufacturer of high frequency satellite communications technology, offering reliable, cutting-edge solutions for high data rate requirements. They specialise in the design and build of high frequency active and passive Flat Panel Phased Array Antennas, Satellite Transceivers, Amplifiers, MMICs and components.
Salary - £30+
The Job As an antenna design engineer you will be responsible for designing and developing RF and microwave antennas which will be used in various new space applications. • Perform RF EM simulations using the latest techniques and tools such as HFSS, CST and ADS to ensure the designs meet the required specifications. • Work closely with other engineers to ensure good integration of designs, including PCB layout and antenna modules. • Create and maintain accurate documentation on product development, design specifications, test procedures and test results. • Support both internal and external customers • Ensure customer requirements are met or advice if these need to be optimised • Diagnose antenna issues using various methods such as visual inspection and data analysis and design • Design, simulation and layout using HFSS or CST • Complex antenna array simulations/optimisation using HPC/Cluster • Process complex array of data using MATLAB • Take early prototype designs into serial production The team of 5 work 5 days in the office in Brinkworth near Swindon. Candidate Requirements • RF/Microwave antenna design experience (narrowband and wideband) • Experience with antenna test and trials in an anechoic chamber • Use of vector network analysers and other test equipment • Awareness of meta-materials design technologies • Appreciation of mechanical design & module packaging • Appreciation of active microwave, RF and analogue design • Clear understanding of engineering tools, processes and procedures • Knowledge and experience with RF/Microwave design tools including HFSS and MATLAB • Ability to write high quality test requirements and test reports • Be able to work of your own initiative whilst being a team player • Good time management skills
