Air Import Operator

Wythenshawe, Manchester

£28,000 - £34,000

Monday – Friday, 09:00 – 17:30

We are seeking an experienced Air Import Operator to join one of the worlds leading freight businesses. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating the import of goods via air freight, ensuring timely and efficient delivery.

The Candidate;

  • 2+ years of experience working as an air import operator in a freight forwarding environment
  • Strong knowledge of air freight operations and customs regulations
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in Cargowise, ASM Sequoia & CDS
  • Experience in handling dangerous goods movements is desirable
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask

Duties and Responsibilities;

  • Coordinating the import of goods via air freight from origin to destination
  • Communicating with airlines, clients and other partners to ensure smooth delivery of goods
  • Monitoring flight schedules and tracking shipments to ensure timely delivery
  • Handling customs clearance and compliance with import regulations
  • Processing documentation, including AWBs, invoices, and packing lists
  • Communicating with customers to provide updates on shipment status and addressing any issues that arise
  • Identifying opportunities for cost savings and implementing process improvements
