New role available to work for a growing International Forwarding Company based in Altrincham in their Air Freight Import and Export department.

The role will actively support the growth of our Forwarding clients through a commitment to achieve its strategic objective of meeting and exceeding the budget set for the financial year. Through a committed approach to achieving best in class customer service and surpassing customer KPI metrics, whilst demonstrating a committed approach to customer service, proactive communications and relationship building with all customers, suppliers, colleagues and overseas agents combined with an emphasis on proactively looking for opportunities of growth, development and applying efficiency to your role at all times.

Essential or preferred qualifications :
- Preferred experience on Cargowise
- Preferred Min 3 -5 years’ experience in operation freight forwarding role either Air or Sea

Key skills/in-depth knowledge requirements
- Customs clearance skills essential

Role, Responsibilities and Contribution:

Proactively support the team with the day to day running of the department, including but not limited to:

- Providing professional and proactive customer service at all times when liaising with clients, colleagues and oversea partners
- Completing import operator related tasks such as clearances, deliveries, updating internal systems and charging files out.
- Completing export operator related tasks such as cutting documentation, arranging collections, customs, updating internal systems and charging files out.
- Oversee and assist in the preparation of quotations for overseas offices and clients, logging these on the appropriate report and following up to secure shipment
- Customs Procedures - Ensuring correct customs and procedures are being used and followed
- Arrange collections/deliveries with in-house transport department or other haulier
- Assist with cost accruals and charging of shipments including the sending out of invoice and back up documentation to the relevant party
- Ensuring all import/export files comply with our clients AEO standards and that information is accurate and precise on all aspects of the shipments
- Proactively seek new sales opportunities by developing existing customers, EXW’s shipments and any other potential customers
- Ad-hoc duties as and when required from time to time by management
