Day to day duties will include (but will not be limited to):

  • Feeding and bedding all aspects of animal husbandry and welfare
  • Calf rearing
  • Assisting with robotic milking
  • Some stock related tractor work

Things to consider

Due to the rural location and limited public transport links, a driving license and own car is preferred. Alternatively, reliable transport arrangements will be required.

About the employer

Trenant Farm is a beef and dairy farm. Ley Farm is predominantly dairy and young calves. The successful apprentice will be working across both farm sites situated a few miles apart from each other.

A new 20 x 40 rapid exit milking parlour has been built. This is a fantastic opportunity for an apprentice to be involved with and develop many new skills within the industry.

You will be working towards a Level 2 Stockperson Apprenticeship Standard.

You will recieve on and off the job training and support from an assessor and an apprenticeship advisor.

You will be required to attend Duchy College Stoke Climsland on a weekly basis as part of the apprenticeship training.
