We think that our people are the best in the industry - if you want to join us, there has never been a better time!What does the role of an Adventure Care Worker involve?The welfare of our children and young people is paramount in the role of an Adventure Care Worker. Our Assessments Homes provide shorter term placements (usually twelve weeks), during which time we ensure that we meet all of our young person’s day-to-day needs are met, that safeguarding is paramount and that we provide tailored and focused support based on individual care plans. Role responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
  • Contributing to the young person’s care plans and risk assessments, their review and implementation
  • Forming effective relationships with young people, their families (if appropriate) and external agencies
  • Ensuring the home is kept clean and in a tidy condition, adhering to the cleaning rota system and encouraging the young people to participate as appropriate
  • Ensuring that good quality records are maintained as required with supervision and advice from shift leaders and managers
  • Maintaining and promoting residential care work to high levels of professionalism expected by Esland and Ofsted
  • Meeting the emotional and physical needs of our young people and maximizing opportunities for their development
  • Ensuring that a daily plan of activities is carried out to ensure that your young person receives a high level of engagement and support
  • Being proactive, vigilant and ensuring safety when off site and away from the main registered home.
What we are looking for:You will ideally be experienced and qualified in children’s residential care work, youth services, SEN teaching or complex care. The right candidate will be dedicated and proactive, with a keen awareness of outdoor activities and their place within delivering therapeutic interventions to children and young people who have experienced significant trauma. You will need to have:
  • Level 3 Diploma in Children and Young People or equivalent (desirable)
  • Experience in a childcare setting (desirable)
  • Passion to help nurture young people.
  • A real love for adventure and outdoor activity qualifications (preferred)
  • Flexibility to spend 4 days on site (on a 4-on, 6-off rota)
  • Full driving licence (essential)
  • All candidates must be over the age of 21 in line with industry regulations
