Pebbles Education has a fantastic opportunity for a Support for Learning Assistant to support the delivery of our bespoke learning programme.Our new Pebbles Education programme, ’Adapt Learning’, provides our pupils with a blend of classroom learning, remote learning, and outdoor education.As a Support for Learning Assistant in the Adapt Learning team, you will work closely with our school and care practitioners to deliver a bespoke programme tailored to each individual pupil. The role will predominantly be school based and will include opportunities to work from home when delivering online learning.Duties and Responsibilities include:
  • Support our teachers to deliver the Adapt Learning model by delivering face-to-face support in school, face-to-face support in residential children’s homes, and facilitating remote learning.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to update on pupil progress and ensure effective tracking and recording outcomes.
  • Utilise and update our education platform (Kinteract) effectively, to support our care teams to gather and evidence progress.
  • Support teachers to prepare, deliver, assess, and feedback on online and remote sessions in core subjects and other areas of the curriculum to match the skills and interests of young people.
  • Deliver therapeutic input online and face-to-face for individuals or small groups of pupils. This may include yoga for trauma, CBT, massage therapy, art therapy, or other therapeutic approach depending on skillset. Essential qualities that we look for,
  • Desire to work with pupils who have experienced trauma and challenge.
  • Creative approach to building relationships and engaging learners.
  • An adaptable approach to our Adapt Learning model.
  • A valid UK driving licence and ability to travel when required.
  • PVG enhanced, this check will be carried out upon appointment.
  • Right to work in UK
Desirable
  • Educated to degree level with experience of a range of teaching approaches and experience of online teaching.
  • Knowledge of theoretical approaches to ACEs, mental health, attachment, therapeutic parenting, etc. and able to apply to everyday practice.
  • Experience of working with pupils with Additional Support Needs, or the desire to undertake professional learning to gain skills in this area.

  • Your salary will be £22,050 to £24,800 per annum, pro rata depending on experience
  • The role is based in Dunfermline and is a full-time permanent position.
