We’ve been achieving this goal since 1886, you could be part of our story as Accounts Payable Manager.This an exciting opportunity for an experienced AP Manager to join the Whittard family. Reporting to the Financial Accounting Manager, you will lead and manage the AP team, and associated processes including both the stock and utilities purchase ledgers and processing of payments, including expenses, in a timely and accurate manner.As Accounts Payable Manager, Your Responsibilities Will Include
  • Manage the purchase ledgers - stock and utilities, including monthly reviews.
  • Manage the weekly payments in line with company procedures.
  • Effective communication with suppliers regarding payment dates.
  • Plot payments, to assist with cashflow management.
  • Maintenance of payment sheets.
  • The accurate completion of monthly reviews and ensuring statement reconciliations are completed.
  • Identify and implement process improvements.
  • Management responsibility to Finance Assistant.
We would love to hear from you if you have the following:
  • Previous supervisory experience within a senior AP role.
  • Experienced working in a high volume fast paced environment.
  • Accounting qualification, such as AAT preferred.
  • The ability to work to tight deadlines.
  • Comfortable using accounting systems.
What Will You Be DoingThe Finance team play a pivotal role at Whittard, and you will play a key role in managing the AP team, ensuring the team are motivated and working to best practice and common goals. Accountable for the day-to-day accounts payable function and plotting payments to manage cashflow, you will work closely with the Financial Accounting Manager to ensure efficient and accurate payment runs. You will enjoy working in a collaborative environment, focused on professional development.
