The Company

Based in the heart of East Lancashire, the company is a well established business, which is a leader in their sector. They design and supplier equipment to fast moving manufacturing businesses across the UK and further afield.

The Role

They are looking to recruit an experienced accounts manager to join their small, successful team. Reporting to the Finance Director you will have responsibility for ensuring the finance and admin function of the business runs smoothly.

Duties Will Include

Payroll
  • Weekly payroll, including RTI and pension contributions/uploads
  • Expenses and petty cash
  • Assisting with preparation of month end management information; including prepayments and accruals, balance sheet reconciliations and journals
  • Posting bank payments and receipts, including foreign currency transactions. Monthly bank reconciliations.
Sales ledger
  • Raising invoices using excel
  • Posting sales invoices in Sage
  • Credit control
Purchase Ledger
  • All aspects of purchase ledger using Sage 50 account
  • Obtaining quotes
  • Raising Purchase orders in Sage
  • Ordering parts/materials as directed by the design team
  • Using Sage Project to book costs to individual jobs, including labour
  • Booking goods received onto Sage
  • Matching GRN to PI
  • Processing purchase invoices, both via the PO system and directly to the ledger
  • Supplier Statement reconciliations
  • Monthly supplier payment runs
  • Ad hoc payments
General administration
  • Answering the phone
  • Dealing with post and parcels (in and out)
  • Assisting with travel - e.g. booking hotels/flights
The Successful Candidate

You will ideally be AAT qualified or qualified by experience, with a number of years experience working in a busy accounts office. This is a small team, so the ideal candidate will be hands on and happy to roll their sleeves up and help out to cover busy/holiday times. The FD is looking for someone who can bring new ideas to the table and improve processes. Sage experience would be highly desirable but not essential.

The Package

On offer is a salary of up to £30,000 DOE.

Hours are Mon - Thurs 8-5 and Friday 8-12.

There is on-site parking and a good holiday entitlement.
