A well-established and growing manufacturing business based on the outskirts of Horsforth are looking for an Accounts Assistant/Assistant Accountant to join their fast-paced finance team on a permanent basis. The role will be extremely varied and will include some transactional duties whilst supporting with month end processes . On offer is a salary of up to £27,000 depending on experience, free parking, and the chance to learn from a personable and extremely knowledgeable Financial Controller. This is a fantastic opportunity for a Finance Assistant/Accounts Assistant/Assistant Accountant with ideally some exposure to accruals, prepayments and/or journals to gain some further, varied experience. Candidates with more of a transactional background will also be considered and full training and ongoing development with be offered from all members of the finance team.

Key responsibilities for the Accounts Assistant/Assistant Accountant will include:

  • Carrying out monthly reconciliations
  • Processing of journals and supporting with monthly reporting
  • Assisting with accruals and the month end process
  • Working with Excel daily
  • Supporting the purchase ledger function and processing invoices and credit notes
  • KPI reporting and carrying out balance sheet reconciliations
  • Maintenance of the fixed asset register
  • Dealing with queries and resolving them in a timely manner
  • Assisting with the credit control process and be comfortable making outbound calls when needed

To be successful in this Accounts Assistant/Assistant Accountant role, individuals will ideally:

  • Have previous experience of completing a month end within an industry role or will have a strong transactional finance background and will be keen to learn and develop
  • Be able to work towards targets and deadlines whilst retaining a high level of attention to detail
  • Have strong IT skills and will be comfortable with Excel and will be able to pick up new functions quickly
  • Be enthusiastic, confident and hands on in approach
  • Be able to work in a fast paced, ever changed environment

This role is extremely accessible via public transport and is commutable from all areas of West and North Leeds, Bradford and the surrounding areas.
