EXTEND YOUR POTENTIAL WITH A GLOBAL TEAM OF EXPERTS

We are looking for an Accounts administrator to join our Finance team in Uttoxeter to cover maternity for 15 months. This role will report to the Head of Finance and is a key part of the accounting and financial function of COWI UK.
On a day-to-day basis, you’ll be responsible for:

  • Assistance with monthly payroll tasks, providing support to colleagues coordinating the UK payroll.
  • Owning and monitoring of the Accounts mailbox, ensuring all items are dealt with timeously and appropriately.
  • Management of Purchase Order system ensuring accuracy at all times and responding to internal and external questions where relevant
  • Assisting Lead Accountant with monthly BPC submissions, providing support and analysis where necessary
  • Calculation of monthly accruals for sub-contractor costs, ensuring completeness and accuracy. Checking these calculations are correct across month-end to ensure accurate month-end figures. Also dealing with sub-contractor and agency checks where necessary.
  • Assisting with the collation and monitoring of office costs in conjunction with the Head of UK Facilities Management
  • Completion of Office of National Statistics surveys on a weekly basis
  • Ownership and management of company mobile phones account with O2
  • Dealing with charity donation management for tax purposes
  • Organisation and creation of monthly VAT and Corporation Tax payments
  • The creation and maintenance of direct debits and standing orders when required.
  • Ad hoc tasks when required to support the Head of Finance and the UK Business.

Furthermore, you’ll have:

  • Demonstrable administration experience working within an Accounts department
  • Good IT Skills across all Microsoft packages, especially excel
  • The ability to work on your own initiative when required
  • An enthusiastic approach to your work
  • Good communication and organisation skills and be capable of multi-tasking whilst maintaining attention to detail.
  • Experience of SAGE LINE 50 accounting software (preferable)
