Main Purpose of the Post


Academic Quality and Programme Development Officer will:

  • Report to the Academic Quality and Programme Development Lead and to deputise for them when
  • Manage staff within the Academic Quality Team to ensure delivery of effective quality systems and
  • Deliver and promote robust quality assurance policies and standard operating procedures to ensure the programmes delivered by the Schools within the Faculty, provide a high quality student and staff experience in line with internal and external requirements.
  • Review and maintain a range of administrative processes and procedural documentation to ensure practices and processes are fully compliant with University regulations and procedures at all times and comply with QAA
  • Work closely with the relevant professional service units and academies across the University
  • Support the process of student complaints, appeals, disciplinary cases and fitness to practice.
  • Provide general support and advice to Programme Directors particularly in relation to the quality review processes such as Quality Review, Annual Programme Review, Module Review and associated action plans.
  • Support the process of preparing documentation for new programmes to be submitted to the Programme Approval Committee. Ensuring these are accurate, auditable and produced to a high professional
  • In consultation with the Academic Quality and Programme Development Lead, oversee the promotion of good academic practice and the processing of academic misconduct
  • Ensure professional liaison and interaction with relevant external bodies, including (PSRBs) to meet the requirements of existing accreditation and support new applications
  • In consultation with the Academic Quality and Programme Development Lead produce and distribute staff and student handbooks /guides in a range of formats in support of programme/quality related information. This will include liaising with central and academic staff to manage the accuracy and content of the material covered.
  • Assist the Academic Quality and Programme Development Lead in the process of module
  • Be responsible for the update and accuracy of module and programme maintenance, the monitoring and processing of new modules, programme rules and
  • To service formal committees and related working groups as required
  • Regularly deliver staff training and development events for academics and professional services, to communicate policy, strategy and regulation changes in relation to QA processes.
  • To support the Academic Quality and Programme Development Lead in the development and implementation of common administrative systems and policies across Schools and the wider
  • Provide high quality administrative support for any specialist or collaborative
  • Work with cross Faculty professional services teams to create the Student Academic Cycle/planner in relation to quality processes.
  • To work closely with the Academic Quality and Programme Development Lead to support the production of the teaching timetable in conjunction the Central Timetable team.
  • Support the academic quality and programme development lead with the development of service user activities across the Faculty sites.
  • Contribute to a culture of change and continuous service improvement within the Faculty
