Join us today and release yours.About this roleThe Post holder will have an exciting opportunity to be part of the DFTS defence contract and be joining a team of motivated multi skilled 3rd line support specialists. You will be responsible for the end to end delivery of our secure and complex gateway customer service contract, maintaining a flexible and pro-active approach to all aspects of work, whilst using initiative to resolve day to day issues to both the clients’ and BT’s satisfaction.You’ll have the following responsibilities
• Ensuring that Systems Administration tasks are carried out as documented
• Resolving 3rd line incidents and logging all incident resolution activity in the service management tool
• Ensuring that SLA targets are achieved
• Performing the necessary performance tuning as directed
• Organising particular upgrades and necessary patching
• Following documented processes and contributing to their review
• Ensuring configuration management records are kept up to date and updating records after making any changes
• Undertaking problem management as directed and ensuring that problem records are kept up to date
• Where necessary liaising with suppliers to ensure the resolution of incidents and problems
• Being part of the out of hours rota as scheduled by the DFTS EGS Technical Operations Manager
• Supporting the delivery of special projects as directed
• Follow security procedures
• Occasionally take tape media to offsite location (distance 10 miles)
