Why this job matters

You will be part of a team of multi skilled specialists responsible for the end to end delivery of customer DFTS service on secure and non-secure services contracts.

Maintaining a flexible and pro-active approach to all aspects of work, you’ll resolve day to day issues to both the clients’ and BT’s satisfaction. You’ll be covering the common core platform, the Flexible High Bandwidth Network FHBN, Inet and associated equipment that makes up the secure network.

This will involve providing business continuity to the P2P, CCP & IP Services data platforms, and maintaining operational cover of 24-hour shift positions from the primary or fallback control centre. All while complying with the GDPR regulations and ITIL4 requirements.

What You’ll Be Doing

1 - Monitoring / facilitating repair of the DFTS layer 2 data platforms and assisting / supporting ongoing GOSCC operations.

2 - Maintaining the juniper router management networks and MPLS layer 2 network

3 - You will assist the Operation and Service Managers in establishing, maintaining & improving support systems and local procedures

• Holding and maintaining the enhanced security level including crypto authorisation
• Cards / equipment that requires special handling / sanitizing before return to the repair chain are dealt with promptly and recorded correctly

What we would like to see on your CV

1 - An understanding of virtual servers/ HPUX / Solaris / Windows technologies

2 - Experience with Juniper routers and Nortel passports operations and configuration

3 - A good understanding of IP data networks, including WAN protocols and technologies

• Experience with cryptographic network devices for ATM and IP networks
• The successful candidate must already hold Government Security Clearance to DV level, which requires residence in the UK for a minimum of 10 years with no breaks
