Jigsaw Specialist Recruitment are delighted to support our client with an exciting new opportunity for a Social Media Officer. Working as part of the Marketing and Communications team, the Social Media Officer is responsible for maintaining and growing their social media presence to increase brand awareness and engagement.

The successful candidate will be required to manage multiple social media channels including Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn, and will require good experience and strong editing and writing skills to create effective, strong and suitable content for each platform.

Other responsibilities will include:

• Develop, maintain and manage the social media channels, taking responsibility for content, monitoring and engagement
• Responsible for researching, interviewing and writing a steady flow of strong news stories
• Publish content on the website
• Create monthly social media schedules for approval
• Undertake ’social listening’ on a regular basis for proactive opportunities
• Respond to social media enquiries, seeking advice and approvals where required
• Plan, implement and report on paid social media advertising campaigns

Skills and Experience required:

• A degree or diploma (or similar qualification) with an emphasis on marketing
• Knowledge of social media platforms
• Excellent journalistic copywriting and editing skills
• Excellent proof-reading skills
• Good interpersonal skills
• Microsoft office literate
• Strong social media management experience
• Experience of interviewing and writing up well-written news stories
• Experience in running successful social media campaigns
• Experience in using Google Analytics and creating regular reports
• Experience of creating and sending email campaigns
