This Production Operator position is a temp to perm role based in Halifax with a world leading chemical manufacturing company specialising in emulsions. The main duties of a Production Operator are to work closely with the Chargehand to ensure that products are made according to specifications.

This is an opportunity to work as a Production Operator for a well-established leading & growing Chemical Manufacturer and the Production Operator will be integral to the ongoing success of the company.

Main Responsibilities of the Production Operator will include:

  • Checking plant and pumps are clean and maintained.
  • Ensuring correct operation of plant and pumps.
  • Ensuring correct pack and pallets are used for finished goods.
  • Regularly fill & empty large containers.
  • Implementing H&S at all times and report any problems.
  • Demonstrate some level of heavy lifting.
  • Working closely with Chargehand and engineering dept to overcome potential problems.
  • Operating milling equipment.
  • Charging and discharges vessels.
  • Identifying and report any process problems.

The successful candidate will:

  • Be able to follow procedures/written instructions at all times.
  • Be able to work closely with chargehand/engineering and implementing PPM.
  • Be Proactive throughout the department.
  • Have good clear and precise communication skills.
  • Have strong literacy and numerical skills.
  • Be a good team players.
