An excellent opportunity has arisen within a leading Manufacturing client to support the HR Manager within the business.

You will assist the HR Manager with the consistent delivery of people policies, generalist HR, Recruitment and HR procedures.

Description

As HR Advisor you will be responsible for supporting colleague engagement, retention, absence, inductions, training, recruitment and succession planning as part of your daily role within this super business.

You will support the HR Manager with all site HR functions and will sometimes need be on your own on site in her absence.

A strong strategic mind and knowledge of best business practices. In terms of experience, we are looking for someone with a strong and diverse generalist background with an interest in recruitment.

The role will be a Generalist Advisor role with exposure to recruitment and providing general HR advice to the business, you will need to have a background in recruitment and ideally be interested in developing that further as they will be driving the recruitment strategy forward with the HR Manager.

It is an exciting opportunity as the business looks to continue the improvement People management, identifying creative and unique ways to attract candidates, supporting end to end recruitment - onboarding - development - exit processes, looking at ways to improve retention and reduce attrition.

Ø Provide support, advice and guidance to managers, employees and directors across the 3 West Yorkshire sites.

Ø Support with the management of training activity including

Ø Manage the complete onboarding process for all new starters, administer all documentation including offer letters, contracts, starter packs

Ø Ensure employee records are updated in line with GDPR

Ø Liaising with external recruitment agencies for temporary and permanent staff

Ø Log and monitor attendance records updating absence reasons, co-ordinate occupational health referrals

Ø Arrange medicals and hearing tests through occupational health

Ø Update policies, procedures and the handbook in accordance with current legislation

Ø Responsible for co-ordinating and assisting with the monitoring of all company probations and the co-ordination of all performance reviews and appraisals.

Ø To provide a professional and first point of contact to internal and external customers/employees.

Ø To liaise with and seek advice and guidance from external advisors where appropriate.

Ø To identify HR related improvements, provide a business case and implement where approved.

Ø To advise on, plan and manage employee consultation process where required.

Ø To overview driving licence/CPC/medical checks to ensure continuation of relevant driving permissions.

Ø Process Payroll for all companies.

Ø Update Internal HR Systems.

Requirements

Previous experience in manufacturing would be advantageous.

Excellent people skills

Ability to develop good working relationships with colleagues.

Able to handle highly confidential information.

Excellent time management skills

The successful applicant will ideally be CIPD qualified, but this is not essential and have excellent communication skills and a can-do attitude. It is essential that the job holder is used to managing the administration of the role as well as supporting and advising senior management on all aspects of HR.

The role is full time Monday-Friday 0800 - 1700
